LA MÉNAGERIE DE MONSIEUR FONTAINE


At the height of his creative verve, Jean de la Fontaine, the famous fabulist, regularly found himself confronted with the recurring problem of inspiration. So, to stimulate his narrative imagination, he asks the valets of his protector, Madame de La Sablière, to take him in a sedan chair, into the heart of a green setting: the countryside, in order to serve as a setting and decor natural to his fables. To perfect this setting, he calls on his two servants, Colin and Guillot, asking them to interpret the roles of the various animals mentioned in several fables.
The exercise of “taming” a particular genre ends up constituting a very original menagerie.

In line with the Global Big Day, an annual international event in the world of ornithology, experience the fifth edition of the Big Day Marquenterre.
More than a day of “competition”, it will be a special opportunity to appreciate together the biodiversity of our favorite playground.
