A house to help you comprehend, see and understand the Bay of the Somme

A true initiation into the natural richness of the Estuary, the Bay of the Somme and Bird House is museum space open to all.

Progressively, by means of an educational journey, you will be initiated into the particularities of the estuary. Discover more than 250 species of bird in their natural habitats: cliffs, woods, marshes…
A bit farther away, the largest colony of harbour seals in France reveal their secrets and help you to understand why the protection of the bay is necessary, before going to discover them in their habitat during an outing.
There is a room dedicated to a collection of records on the birds (from the smallest to the largest, from the slowest to the fastest,…).
At the end of the visit, a film, “Against the Wind and the Tide” allows you to understand the evolution and the future of the Bay of the Somme.

Highlights 2010:

- Nature and Bird Festival from 10 to 18 April 2010 The Bay of the Somme and Bird House participates in the Bird Festival with lots of entertainment (exhibitions, workshops, conferences,…)
