Incomparable gardens at the foot of a Cistercian abbey
Escape your worldly cares…
The Valloires Gardens
Created by Gilles Clément, landscape gardener of international renown, the Valloires Gardens house more than 5,000 species of plants and shrubs. They extend over 8 ha and face the Valloires Abbey.
Nothing is random, the location and the choice of vegetation, their colours and scents give a vibrant structure to this contemporary garden that evolves according to the season and the weather.
The gardens are divided into 6 atmospheric gardens
The Regular Garden where the vegetable cloister adopts the design of the mineral cloister of the Abbey.
The Rose Garden presents in patchwork a hundred varieties of ancient and modern roses. You will find, among others, the Valloires Garden Rose, the Cistercian Rose, as well as like the celebrated Picardy Rose.
The Islands Garden, conceived to accommodate a collection of 3,000 species of vegetables with evocative themes: winter island, silver island, butterfly island…
The Marsh Garden, structured by a canal, brings together water-loving plants such as Japanese Spring flowers, taxodium, alders…
The 5 Senses Garden, where the plants are classified according to touch, smell…, is ideal for children to discover the richness and the use of vegetation.
The Lamarck Garden tells the story of plants since their appearance on Earth and pays homage to the celebrated Picardy botanist.
