Responsible tourism

"Nature is the biggest asset of our business"

The Baie de Somme is an exceptional natural heritage where humans and nature have been able to coexist without harming the environment.

Since 1975, the Syndicat Mixte Baie de Somme Grand Littoral Picard has been pursuing a development policy focused on preserving natural areas.

We have pioneered sustainable development in the belief that it is public action that gives rise to the real economy. Thus, by the end of the 80’s, we started commercially developing major tourist facilities.

By respecting the dictates of the market, we can provide visitors to our region such diverse offerings as an 18-hole golf course surrounded by dunes, a boutique hotel by the Bay, a botanical garden at the foot of a Cistercian abbey, a water park in the middle of a tourist eco-resort, an art and folk traditions museum, the Baie de Somme House, a bird park in a Nature Reserve, and even regional products in the Baie de Somme’s motorway service station shop.

Open to everyone, especially from Europe, capitalizing on our natural and cultural heritage without altering it so it can be handed down intact to future generations, and creating rich natural resources to share them equitably, these are our goals.

Every entity of "Destination Baie de Somme" is contributing towards the development of responsible tourism.
